ITMA 2023,the largest global trade fair for the textile industry, took place in Milan from 8 to 14 June. This event brought together over 111,000 professionals from around the world who were seeking new trends and opportunities for business development.
Ukrainian Companies at ITMA 2023:
Representatives of K.TEX company participated in the ITMA 2023 exhibition as part of the Ukrainian delegation, alongside other companies in the textile industry. Despite the challenges Ukraine is facing, Ukrainian textile producers do not stop developing, changing and modernising, adapting to modern realities.
Transformation of the Textile World:
The main topic of the exhibition was the idea of “Transformation of the Textile World.” The European Union has chosen a strategy according to which textile products in the EU market by 2030 should be renewable and recyclable, primarily using secondary materials. This opens up new prospects and requires changes in textile production for European manufacturers.
ITMA Nonwovens Forum:
The ITMA Nonwovens Forum, held during ITMA 2023, featured interesting presentations and discussions. TThe key report was delivered by Dr. Brian Haynes, CTO of Kimberly-Clark Corporation. He focused on the ready-made nonwoven solutions to the global plastics crisis and called on industry players to cooperate and compete together to increase the speed of market solutions. Renowned experts in the field of nonwoven materials were also among the speakers. Two sessions with presentations by ITMA 2023 participants followed the main keynote speech, where exhibition representatives shared innovations and digital technologies in the nonwoven industry. The forum ended with a panel discussion where experts discussed the use of sustainable innovations in nonwoven materials.
Conclusion:
ITMA 2023 offered a platform for the textile business, where innovations, new trends and opportunities were shared. The topics of transforming the textile world and developing sustainable production were central to the discussions. The presence of Ukrainian companies showed their readiness to develop and find new opportunities in the textile industry.
